numbers of young males (construction, for example), and also has a relatively small average establishment size, is more likely to exhibit higher rates of drug use even though establishment size may not, by itself, be a significant factor. One would have to control for the effects of these and other variables in a multivariate statistical analysis to have confidence in any simple statements that related establishment size to current illicit drug use or heavy alcohol use.
