Figure 2.18 is a U.S. map showing percentages reporting past month use of any illicit drug other than marijuana among persons aged 18 to 25, by State, for 2000 and 2001. States listed here in alphabetical order within each group were divided into five groups based on the magnitude of their percentages. States in the highest group (7.75 to 10.51 percent) were Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont. States in the next highest group (7.08 to 7.74 percent) were Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Kentucky, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Washington. States in the mid group (6.59 to 7.07 percent) were Alabama, California, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming. States in the next lowest group (6.17 to 6.58 percent) were Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia. States in the lowest group (4.86 to 6.16 percent) were Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wisconsin.
