Figure 6.2 is a bar chart that indicates the percentages of adults receiving past year mental health treatment by marijuana use and abuse categories. The chart shows that among adults who received mental health treatment in the past year, 7.9 percent never used marijuana in their lifetime, 14.6 percent used marijuana in their lifetime but not in the past year, 15.6 percent used marijuana in the past year but were not heavy users or were dependent or abusers, 14.0 percent were heavy marijuana users but were not dependent or abusers, and 22.9 percent were dependent upon or abused marijuana in the past year.
