Figure 3.8 is a bar chart comparing the percentages of mental health treatment types received by adults with private insurance to those received by adults with Medicaid/CHIP in the past year. The chart shows that among adults with private insurance coverage, 81.3 percent received outpatient treatment only, 73.8 percent received outpatient and medication treatment, 73.3 percent received medication only, and 39.5 percent received inpatient treatment. Among adults with Medicaid/CHIP, 36.0 percent received inpatient treatment, 14.6 percent received medication only, 14.4 percent received outpatient and medication treatment, and 7.6 percent received inpatient treatment in the past year.
