Figure 3.7 is a bar chart comparing the percentages of mental health treatment types received by adults who received and did not receive government assistance in the past year. The chart shows that among government assistance recipients, 47.8 percent received inpatient treatment, 18.7 percent received medication only, 19.4 percent received outpatient and medication treatment, and 12.3 percent received outpatient only treatment in the past year. Among non-recipients, 87.7 percent received outpatient only treatment, 80.6 percent received outpatient and medication treatment, 81.3 percent received medication only, and 52.2 percent received inpatient treatment in the past year.
