Figure 3.6 is a bar chart comparing the percentages of mental health treatment types received by adults with family incomes of $75,000 or more with those received by adults with family incomes of $20,000 or less. The chart shows that among adults with family incomes of $75,000 or more, 28.9 percent received outpatient treatment only, 24.4 percent received outpatient and medication treatment, 17.9 percent received medication only, and 5.3 percent received inpatient treatment. Among adults with family incomes of $20,000 or less, 46.4 percent received inpatient treatment, 26.7 percent received medication only, 22.8 percent received outpatient and medication treatment, and 17.8 percent received outpatient treatment only in the past year.
