Figure 3.4 is a bar chart comparing the percentages of mental health treatment types received by college graduates with those received by adults with less than a high school education. The chart shows that among college graduates, 43.5 percent received outpatient treatment only, 30.3 percent received outpatient and medication only, 19.4 percent received medication only, and 7.2 percent received any inpatient treatment. Among adults with less than a high school education, 38.9 percent received inpatient treatment, 18.0 percent received medication only, 11.4 percent received outpatient and medication treatment only, and 10.5 percent received outpatient treatment only.
