Chapter 3's Figure 3, a line and marker chart, presents three graphs contrasting self-reported any weekly use of illicit drugs (heroin, cocaine, and marijuana) in 1992 for the high-risk sample by age. Reported weekly use of marijuana declined in a linear fashion starting at age 20. Reported weekly cocaine use increased from age 20 until the mid-30s, then declined after the late 30s. Heroin use was lower in the younger population but increased after the early 40s.
