Chapter 2's Figure 8 shows the age distribution of respondents to the 1999 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse as a percentage of the U.S. population. It highlights the fact that a disproportionate percentage of younger persons are included in the survey, which covers ages from 12 to 105. A higher proportion of persons aged 35 or younger are surveyed.
