Figure 6.5 is a bar chart indicating the percentages of adults receiving mental health treatment in the past year by substance abuse problem. The chart shows that 9.7 percent of the adults receiving mental health treatment had never received substance abuse treatment, 21.2 percent received substance abuse treatment in their lifetime but not in the past year, 39.4 percent received alcohol only treatment in the past year, 45.6 percent received drug treatment only in the past year, and 49.3 percent received both alcohol and drug treatment in the past year.
