Figure 5.1 is a bar chart indicating the percentages of inpatient treatment received in the past year by type of facility. The chart shows that 6.4 percent of adults who received inpatient treatment in the past year received treatment at a residential treatment center, 24.8 percent received treatment at a medical unit of a general hospital, 31.5 percent received treatment at a psychiatric unit of a general hospital, 31.2 percent received treatment at a private or public psychiatric hospital, 4.7 percent received treatment at another type of hospital, and 7.3 percent received treatment at another type of inpatient facility in the past year.
